Lake Linden from Beck Basin

The Commissioners of the Lindenhurst Lakes Committee are volunteers serving in an advisory capacity to the Village.   A commissioner is appointed to represent each of the four Village lakes.  Additional commissioners represent the Village at Large.  The Committee meets bimonthly or as needed to conduct an open forum for discussion of Lakes Management issues.   It works with the Village Administrator and appointed Trustee to recommend Good Lakes Management Practices.  Activities include oversight of recreational use of our lakes, fish stocking, macrophyte control, shoreline stabilization, interaction with state and local biologists and organizations, e.g. Illinois Departments of Public Health and Natural Resources,. public education including Earth Day and Lindenfest, and ordinance review and recommendation.  The annual budget is funded by the Village and the average range is $38,000 - $42,000, the vast majority of which goes for the annual contract for lakes management and aquatic weed control.

I have liven in Lindenhurst for 18 years.  Throughout my whole life I have lived near a lake.  I grew up on Rainy Lake in Ontario, Canada.  I was a member of the local sportsmen's club which assisted with the local fisheries and had goals to rehab the natural shoreline.

I have enjoyed the lakes of Lindenhurst with my wife, Kristen, and my two daughters, Michelle (7) and Leah (4).  Clean and productive lakes are important to the community and to me.  I am glad I can now take and active role in maintaining them.

I am a Seniro Master mechanic at Sessler Ford in Libertyville and have worked there for 20 years.

My wife Linda and I have lived in Lindenhurst since 1990 and have lived a couple of blocks away from Lake Potomac since 1994.  We have two wonderful daughters who are very good products of the Lindenhurst area schools.  I served in the US Navy from 1984 to 1990.

I have worked for Systems Associates Inc., a company that builds railcar weighing systems, since 1990 as a technician and later as a salesman.

I look forward to the challenge of helping to make Lake Potomac one of the areas best lakes.

Joe Warren - Lake Potomac

I am recently retired from the College of Lake County as director of human resources, and I’m currently employed as an adjunct college instructor there.  I live on Springledge Lake with my wife, Judy, and son, Mike.

The wonderful lakes of our village enticed me to buy my first home in Lindenhurst approximately 11 years ago.  After having had the opportunity to experience the aesthetic and recreational advantages of the lakes, I decided to purchase a home on Springledge Lake in the autumn of 2007.  I have a deep interest in the ecology and protection of our lakes, and I want to do my part to ensure that they remain healthy, viable and attractive.

My wife and I grew up in this area and moved to Lindenhurst in 2002 after a rewarding career in the Air Force. We moved to the Heritage Trails subdivision in 2008 and enjoy the pond behind the house.   It is a great place to raise our three children who are active in local sports activities and the Boy Scouts. My family loves the outdoors and camp, fish and go boating whenever we have the opportunity. Our local lakes are an important community resource.  I  bring my experiences as both a nature advocate and an experienced outdoor enthusiast to our local lakes in an effort towards keeping them preserved for others.

I have lived in Lindenhurst since 2003 with my wife and son and enjoy being part of the community. It seems I was born with a fishing rod in my hand, and my love of fishing has grown into a love of nature and all her qualities. It is upon all of us to have a positive impact on our local environments and become stewards of our land and lakes for future generations to enjoy as we have. I am eager to get more young people involved in the outdoors, whether through fishing, hiking or just observing nature, so that they can learn to enjoy the wonder of our natural surroundings. I am proud to be a part of protecting the jewels of our village.
